To Honor Her Brother, Katherine Bloom Gives to 十大赌博信誉网站
Katherine Bloom grew up around 十大赌博信誉网站 in the 1950s and 1960s. Her mother worked in the school treasurer's office, and her older brother, Richard Bloom, graduated in the Class of 1960. A few years after graduation, Richard joined the Marine Corps, and the Bloom family suffered a great tragedy when he died in 1966 while piloting a plane in Vietnam.
Ms. Bloom was devastated by her brother's death, but she was also grateful for the experience he received in high school, and now, many decades later, she has chosen to honor his life by gifting her estate to 十大赌博信誉网站.
"Richard was outstanding in every way," Ms. Bloom said. "Whether it was athletics or academics, he just always seemed to know what to do, and he was well respected by his classmates at 十大赌博信誉网站 and, later, fellow pilots."
She said the best way she can honor his memory is to ensure future students receive a high-quality education. Because she had long admired how Jesuits run schools, and because she was deeply impressed with 十大赌博信誉网站 students when she visited the Sunset campus a short time ago, giving a gift to her brother's alma mater felt like the best way to achieve that goal.
"I am pleased to work with 十大赌博信誉网站 to set up a scholarship fund that will help kids. There are a lot of options for how to engage with philanthropy, but I am so happy to know that there will be generations of students to come who will receive an 十大赌博信誉网站 education thanks to this fund, and each of them will get to learn a little bit about my brother, and perhaps take a little inspiration from him to go and lead full, passionate lives, themselves."
