魔法师高中项目

The 魔法师 High School Program is an academic, social, and cultural support program for students historically underrepresented at St. Ignatius and institutions of higher education. In addition to the academic and counseling resources that SI already offers all students, the 魔法师 HS Program provides supplemental programs including mentorship, preparation for  college entrance, and cultural enrichment. The 魔法师 Program exists to support St. Ignatius students who identify with 至少一个 of the following criteria:

• 第一代大学生（父母双方均未获得美国学院或大学的学士学位）
• 低收入家庭学生
• 有色人种学生在高等教育中的比例历来偏低

We hope to identify 魔法师-profile students as early as registration their 9th grade year. 然而，圣依纳爵学生谁符合上述标准中的至少一个可以加入该计划在任何时候，他们的时间在SI。

The 魔法师 Center is a safe space for all, irrespective of difference. We provide students with a variety of resources and experiences that support their social-cultural and identity development, including but not limited to: 魔法师 First-Year Retreat, Film Days, Meet & Greets, Community Building Activities, Workshops, Conferences and Presentations.

大学入学准备

The 魔法师 College Advising Program provides support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. In addition to their assigned SI college counselor, students in the 魔法师 Program are able to work closely with our 魔法师 College Advisor, Mrs. Anna Maria Vaccaro, beginning as early as 9th grade.

• 魔法师-profile students are presented with weekly workshops that focus on college and career exploration, enrichment programs and scholarship opportunities such as the 魔法师 Summer College Bootcamp that provide a roadmap to understanding the financial aid and college application process.

学术支持

学生 are able to use the 魔法师 Center to study, complete assignments and projects, and seek academic support. 

Each year, an SI 校友 志愿者 (or two!) serves the 魔法师 Center as an academic tutor, mentor, and advocate who works with our students one-on-one. 学生 who fall under a certain GPA are contacted by the 魔法师 学术支持 Coordinators to create and sustain an improvement plan. 魔法师 我们鼓励学生充分利用办公室每天提供的资源。 The office is open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 9:20 am - 3:30 pm on Friday and is staffed by one of the 魔法师 Center Staff.
The 魔法师 Center will be offering after school academic support for students seeking a place to do homework and tutoring from peer tutors, teachers, and 魔法师 Center Staff.
