Leadership
President
Joseph A. Vollert was named SI's president in August 2025.
He is a Class of 1984 alumnus, and has served as an English and math teacher, head football coach, summer school director, and vice president of advancement at SI.
Joe earned a BA in English from Santa Clara University, attended San Francisco State University in the Masters of Education program, completed the Seminars in Ignatian Leadership, and completed Stanford's Graduate School of Business Executive Program.
He and his wife Stacy live in San Mateo and are parents to Cecilia '11, Andrew '13, and Brian '15.
Principal
Michelle Nevin Levine was appointed SI's 16th principal in July 2019.
She joined the school in 1995 and, prior to becoming principal, was SI's director of counseling. In addition to serving a variety of roles in the Counseling Department, Michelle was also dean of students for nine years, taught AP Psychology, served on SI's admissions committee, and participated in immersion trips and retreats at all levels.
A graduate of Mercy High School, San Francisco, Michelle has a bachelor's degree in developmental psychology from California State University, Chico, a master's degree in educational psychology from the University of San Francisco, and is a graduate of the Ignatian Leadership Seminars, a three-year program to prepare lay teachers and counselors for leadership roles in Jesuit schools.
